This series began while collecting Metro News headlines that seemed almost too strange to be true. With no images to accompany them, I began recreating the stories as photographs, treating each headline as a prompt for an imagined scene. Questioning whether an image could make these stories seem more plausible — and why I felt the need to illustrate something I could barely imagine being real. If both the text and the image can be constructed, where does the sense of truth come from?
